'Twas the Night Before Christmas
‘Twas the night before Christmas and the office was clear.
Everyone else had gone home, except engineers.
The requirements were added into the spreadsheet with care,
But the traceability and consistency just were not there.
The clients were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of documents danc'd in their heads,
But requirements in their binders, and diagrams on their desks,
Had just lost their purpose and caused undue stress.
Then out in the parking lot there arose such a clatter,
That from their desks sprang engineers to see what was the matter.
Out into the lobby they flew like a flash,
Tore open the doors and knocked over the trash.
The magical glare of the security lights
Gave the luster of midday to objects in flight,
When, what to their wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
They knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
For St. Nick was familiar with their problem domain,
And he knew that Vitech would relieve their pain.
"Now David! now, Zane! now, Ron and now Katie.
On, Lou! On, Eva! On Donna and Bethany!
To the top of the building! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
For new practitioners of the model-based way,
Well-structured documents must be so far away.
With software, consulting, and support by their side
They could all meet their deadline with Vitech to guide.
So they spoke not a word, but went straight to their work,
And filled in all the data, then turned with a jerk.
And a finger on the mouse, ready to click,
Knowing this gift at last was just the right trick.
The diagrams popped up on screen with such joy,
The engineers knew they had a new favorite toy.
All four of the domains, together in one place,
Their model consistent and easy to trace.
Santa sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like a well-designed missile.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“So do it with CORE and you can call it a night!”
